OFFENDER ARRESTED

Stanislaus County Sheriff's Crimes Against Children Detectives arrested a sexual predator using the Internet to prey on young children. Christopher Larry Crownover, 28 years, of Stockton was arrested late yesterday afternoon at his residence in Stockton. He is charged with molesting a 15-year-old boy he first met over the Internet. Crownover, who is a service technician for Icee Company, met the young male victim over the Internet in an Internet Chat room. After approximately 2 weeks and gaining the boys trust through email communication, Crownover gained the trust of the young boy and persuaded him to meet at the victim's residence. Crown over drove to the residence, picked up the victim and drove him to a nearby orchard where they parked and engaged in sexual contact. The victim's parents located the email correspondence on the family computer and contacted detectives. Crownover was charged with child molestation and his bail was set at $30,000.00
