ONE PERSON KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED IN LATE NIGHT SHOOTING

EMPIRE, CA - Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Detectives are asking the public’s help in locating witnesses in a late night shooting that killed one person and injured another. Shortly before 11:00 PM last night Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of shots fired at 4900 block of Yosemite Blvd in Empire. Upon arrival Deputies located two victims of gun shot wounds. Both were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims, a 22 yr old Hispanic male, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The second victim, a 19 yr old Hispanic male, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to Sheriff’s Detectives, the victims had stopped to eat at a taco truck when they were confronted by a group of subjects asking the victims about gang associations. The victims attempted to leave the area when the subjects attacked them. Detectives say several witness left the scene in vehicles after the shooting and are asking those witnesses to contact investigators.
