MODESTO, CA - Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding suspect(s) in a early morning shooting that sent two people to the hospital. The shooting happened shortly after 1:00AM this morning behind the auction yard on Main Street and Pecos Avenue.
As deputies arrived on scene, they located two male victims in there 20’s that had been shot. One of the victims was unconscious inside of a vehicle as the vehicle began to catch on fire. Two deputies were able to pull the victim out of the burning vehicle before he sustained further injuries from the fire. Both shooting victims were transported to Modesto area hospitals. One had non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition and the second victim has life threatening injuries and is currently in critical condition.
The suspects in this incident did leave the suspect vehicle at the scene. Detective are following up on a few leads, but are asking the public to call investigators if they witnessed the incident or know any information about the incident.
