EARLY MORNING SHOOTING LEAVES ONE MAN DEAD AND INJURES TWO OTHERS

February 8, 2009

MODESTO, CA - Shortly before 1:00 AM this morning Sheriff Deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 1500 block of Modoc Avenue. When deputies arrived on scene they found 3 victims that had been shot. One of the victims, a Hispanic male in his late teens, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other victims, both Hispanic females, where transported to local hospitals. Of the two female victims, one is paralyzed, and the other is in stable condition.

Detectives say that the victims were all sitting in a parked vehicle on Modoc Avenue, when a white SUV past the victims vehicle and fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect’s SUV then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
