OPEN HOUSE FOR NEW PATTERSON POLICE STATION AND SHERIFF’S WEST AREA COMMAND OFFICE

PATTERSON, CA - Patterson Police Chief Tyrone Spencer invites the public to the Community Open House at the new Patterson Police Station. The Open House will take place on Saturday December 13, 2008 from 10:00am to noon. The station is located at 33 S. Del Puerto Ave in the City of Patterson. During the open house, members of the public will have a chance to meet and talk to Chief Spencer and tour the new station. The new station is about 4200 square feet in size, which is more then double the size of the old station. Before being renovated into the new police station, the office was City Hall. The Patterson Police Department has a staff of 21 sworn peace officers and 4 civilian employees. The City of Patterson contracts with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department to provide police services to the city.

The Patterson Police Station will also be the home for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department’s West Area Command. The West Area Command will have a staff of 16 sworn peace officers and 2 civilian employees. The West Area Command will provide police services to the unincorporated areas of western Stanislaus County. The Sheriff’s Department plans to have the West Area Command fully staffed and operational by February of 2009.
