MODESTO, CA-The Stanislaus County
Sheriff’s Regional Training Center in partnership with San Joaquin Delta
College will be holding a Police Academy graduation ceremony on Friday,
March 28, 2008. Over 1000 family, friends, and guest are expected to attend
this event.
This Police Academy Class, Class 166, started on October 15, 2007 with 74 cadets. The class will graduate with 48 cadets who have complete 24 weeks of intense physical and mental training. Of the 48 cadets graduating, 27 of them are sponsored and have jobs waiting for them after graduation. Agencies sponsoring cadets include; Stockton PD (3), Manteca PD (3), Lodi PD (2) San Joaquin County Sheriff (9), Stanislaus County Sheriff (5), Calaveras County Sheriff (3), and Tuolumne County Sheriff (2). Chiefs and Sheriff’s will be swearing in their new officers and deputies during the graduation ceremonies. The graduation ceremony will be on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Shelter Cove Community Church located at 4242 Coffee Road in Modesto, CA. During the graduation ceremony Sheriff Adam Christianson will be recognizing State Assemblyman Greg Aghizarian for is outstanding leadership with the presentation of the Outstanding Legislator Award from the California State Sheriff’s Association. The Outstanding Legislator Award is given to state leaders who are advocates for public safety and represent there districts regarding public safety issues. The next police academy class will begin on April 7, 2008 with 64 cadets.
