Stopping Illegal Drug Production and Distribution in the Central Valley

STANISLAUS DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY

The Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency is a multi-agency drug enforcement task force that was started by a federal grant in 1974.  What began as a small local agency task force with agents from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department and the Modesto Police Department to combat street level drug dealers, has grown to a task force that now includes police departments from Turlock, Ceres, Oakdale, Waterford, Newman and Hughson.  Additionally, assigned to SDEA are federal agents from the FBI, DEA, IRS and INS.

The SDEA is currently focusing their efforts on the methamphtamine problem which is the number one problem in the central valley.
