Lieutenant Mike Radford was born and raised in Modesto.  He started his law enforcement career in 1994 as a custodial officer with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and transferred to patrol in 1996.  During his time on patrol, he served as a field training officer for 4 years and joined the departments SWAT team in 1999.  He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2002 and served as a patrol watch sergeant, supervisor of the Family Crimes Unit, Internal Affairs, and SWAT team leader and current SWAT Commander. Throughout his career, Lt. Radford has been active in training to include leading defensive tactics training to the department as well as the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Regional Training Center.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in December 2007.

Lt Radford currently serves as a patrol watch commander.
