LIEUTENANT CHARLES GROM |
Lieutenant Charles Grom is a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus with a BA in Criminal Justice. He is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He began his career in law enforcement in 1988 working for the Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall. He was hired by the Sheriff’s Office in 1989 after graduating from the Modesto Junior College Police Academy. His first assignment was at the Honor Farm and the main Jail before being assigned to the Operation’s Division as a patrol officer. Lt. Grom has worked in various assignments including the Family Crimes Unit as a detective and a supervisor, Area Commander for the Central Area Command, Patrol Watch Commander and as the Director for the Ray Simon Regional Criminal Justice Training Center, overseeing the training of more than 200 potential law enforcement officers yearly. He stays current in his teaching experience by teaching criminal justice courses at a local community college. Lt. Grom is active in the community as a member of the Stanislaus County Mental Health Board, the CSU, Stanislaus Alumni Association and various other community service organizations. Lt, Grom is currently assigned as the Northwest Area Commander. |
