The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department opened it's Airport Substation in May of 2003.  The Airport Substation is the Sheriff's Central Area Command Headquarters. The Central Area encompasses the Airport District, South Modesto and Empire. This new facility is located at 530 South Santa Cruz Avenue in Modesto.

The following positions operate from this building: Central Area Command Lieutenant, Airport Community Deputy, Crime Prevention Deputy, South Modesto Community Deputy and the STARS Volunteer Program.

In addition to providing patrol deputies with more resources for this community, this new facility furthers the Sheriff's Departments efforts in providing excellent service to the citizens of Stanislaus County.

The new facility is also co-located with the C.A.I.R.E. Center - Child Abuse Interviews, Referrals and Exams Center.
