The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department is organized into three Divisions:

1.  ADMINISTRATION DIVISION

Responsible for budgeting, procurement, planning, training, personnel assignments, and Internal Affairs.

Assignments:

  • Recruitment
  • Training

 


2.  ADULT DETENTION DIVISION

Care and custody of pretrial and sentenced inmates.

Assignments:

  • Men's Jail
  • Public Safety Center
  • Honor Farm
  • B.A.S., Bureau of Administrative Services
  • Inmate Work Programs

Civil Assignments:

  • Serve all types of Civil Processes

Court Services Assignments:

  • In 1992 the Marshals office merged into the Sheriff's Department to form Court Services
  • Provide security / bailiffs to the Courts


3.  OPERATIONS DIVISIONS

Principal Law Enforcement jurisdiction in all unincorporated areas and contract cities in Stanislaus County.

Patrol Assignments:

  • Investigate Crime
  • Make Arrests
  • Preventative Patrols
  • Render Assistance or Aid

Investigations Assignments:

  • Follow-up investigations on major crimes
  • Collect and prepare cases for trial
  • Coroner Assignments:

    • Investigate violent, sudden or unusual deaths
