JUDITH LEA ADAMS

Case:  #F13808 

The Adams Family is asking for Your help.
Reward: $50,000.00 from the Governor's Office For any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Judith Lea Adams' death.
 
Judith Lea Adams, 2 years old who was reported missing on 4-10-77 and then found dead on 4-15-77. Adams was living in Salida with her two older sisters and mother. The Sheriff's Office was called out and attempted to locate the missing child but was unable to find her. She reportedly walked away from her mother's apartment.

A suspect was arrested in 1982, Butch Byrd, who at the time was living with the victim's mother and three kids. However, not enough evidence was developed to hold Byrd in custody. The case was dropped against him.

JAIME MUNOZ AMADOR

Case:  #S92-05417

The Amador Family is asking for Your help.

Reward: $25,000.00 per perpetrator from the Governor's Office For any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Jaime Munoz Amadors' death.

On 03/15/92, deputies responded to a shooting at 820 Sonora Ave, Modesto. Deputies found the victim; Jaime Amador, 20 years old, had been shot during a car jacking in which his dark blue, 87, Ford Escort, GT, CA License # 2GLP125 was taken. The victim died at the hospital and his vehicle has never been recovered. Witnesses reported seeing two suspects, black male adults, 20-25 years old, 5'-10" to 6'-0", wearing dark clothing. Both suspects were armed with hand guns. A third suspect was seen in a white vehicle which followed the victim's car away from the area. Three witnesses were at the scene and composite drawings were completed.  The suspects would now be 30-35 years in age.

WAYNE ALTON BRANTLEY

Case #F98281

The Brantley Family is asking for Your help.

Wayne Brantley, 46 years old at the time of his death and a resident of Patterson, California was found dead in a pasture on 2-20-79. Brantley was a white male adult and was found stabbed to death by several citizens who were passing by the area. Brantley was found about three miles east of Twenty-eight Mile road, south and east of Woodward Reservoir. An autopsy determined that Brantley had been stabbed multiple times and died.

No suspect information was developed by the original case agent. No leads have developed as to the identity of the person(s) responsible for Brantley's death.

GREGORIO GUZMAN CHAGOLLA

The Chagolla Family is asking for Your help.

On 10/22/91, Gregorio Chagolla was found in a cornfield in the Denair area shot to death. He had been working at Stanislaus Foods in Ceres and had been reported missing by his girlfriend, Manuela Grajeda from Modesto. He had family in Mexico.  Information developed that Chagolla was killed as a result of welching on a bet involving "cock fighting."  Detectives are looking to talk with a subject only identified as Jose Larios who may have information or have been involved in this homicide.

LACY MARIE FERGUSON

Case #SO3-31019

The Ferguson Family is asking for Your help.

A REWARD has been offered by Governor Schwarznegger in the amount of $25,000.00 per perpetrator, for information, voluntarily given hereafter, leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible's in this case. 

REWARD: The Sun-Carrington Foundation had offered a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction.

Victim: Lacy Marie Ferguson, White female adult, 25 years old at the time of her death.

On 8-24-03, Deputies were dispatched to a reported shooting at the Quik Stop Market at 1501 Paradise Road, Modesto. This was a drive by shooting in where three victims were shot. This case was reported to be gang related because of whom the suspect(s) were shooting at, which were other gang related victim's.

Two victim's had minor injuries with the third victim, Lacy Ferguson, an INNOCENT BYSTANDER who later died from her injuries at a local hospital. Ferguson leaves behind a three year old daughter, Haleigh.

Two or more Hispanic male suspects were seen in a newer model, 1997-2003, black, four door, Ford Focus or Toyota Corolla with clear taillight lenses. The driver was described as having a round looking face with dark colored hair that was combed back. The passenger was described as having a round looking face and his hair was lighter than the drivers and in what was described as a long buzz cut. Both suspects appeared to be heavy set.

Boni Driskell, Lacy's mother and the family is asking for the public's help for information in bringing these killers to justice.

BENJAMIN GARCIA

Case # S98-31587

The Garcia Family is asking for Your help.

Victim, Benjamin Garcia, 30-year-old Hispanic male lived with his wife in Merced County. Garcia was reported missing to Merced County Sheriff's Office on 11/10/98 under suspicious circumstances. Garcia was last seen alive by a friend at Gill Auto Repair Shop on 7th Street in Modesto. Garcia was seen getting into a green Suburban with two Hispanic males. Benjamin Garcia was never seen alive again. Garcia's body was found in a ditch in the 8400 block of Jennings Road, Ceres on 12/2/98. Garcia had been shot.

No leads have developed as to the identity of the persons responsible for Benjamin Garcia's death.

JENNIFER HOLLOMAN

Victims: Jennifer "Jennie" Holloman, 21 yrs. old (deceased)
Robin Holloman, 20 months old (still living)

On 9-19-82 in the evening hours the victim, Jennifer Holloman was at home with her husband, Gary and two infant children, Robin 20 months old and James, 5 months old.  Location occurred:  6437 Woodland Av, Modesto, CA., trailer on the property.

Earlier, some young kids had found a red tool box near the Holloman property. They gave the tool box to Jennifer and asked if it belonged to her husband Gary. Jennifer left the tool box outside their trailer and told the kids she would check with Gary when he woke up.

Later, Jennifer showed the tool box to Gary. Gary had no idea who it belonged too. Jennifer proceeded to open the tool box while Gary had gone to the rest room. Jennifer was in the kitchen with her daughter, Robin. James was in the back bedroom, asleep. Gary heard a loud explosion and went back into the kitchen to find his wife had been blown up and his daughter was severely injured. Gary summoned help and Robin was taken to a near by hospital where she later recovered from her injuries. Jennifer died at the scene. 

During subsequent investigation several suspect(s) were contacted but no arrests have been made. The responsible(s) have yet been identified and this case remains unsolved.

DAVID ALLEN HOOTEN

JAMES WILLIAM HUNTER

All four suspects are in custody.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department is requesting any information about the death of James William Hunter that happened on 04/19/2001.  James Hunter was living near Mancini Park, Herndon and Aurora street. He was in house when 3 or 4 Hispanic males forced their way into the home, robbed him and shot him. The suspects fled the scene.

WENDELL N. JOHNS

Case: #S85-3902

The Johns Family is asking for Your help.

On 02-28-1985, Wendell Johns' body was found near his fiancée's, Maryco Graff, driveway after leaving her house. Johns and fiancée went to dinner, dance lessons and the mall.

Upon returning to fiancée's house in the 2500 Blk Albers road, they remained at the house until around midnight. Johns left in his fiancée's car. Johns drove down her driveway. Johns' body was found near the car off to the side of the road around 0340 hours that morning by newspaper lady.  Johns' was beaten to death, weapon was a blunt force object, club. Johns' wallet and a key to the vehicle were taken. The vehicle was found in the driveway near Albers road. Johns' ID and credit cards were found a month later near Albers road during investigation of a fatal traffic accident, unrelated. Only the plastic insert w/ ID & credit cards were found not the wallet or key to the vehicle.  Johns' death still remains a mystery.

THOMAS KEALANUI LEIMBACH

On July 1, 1993 at about 2:00am the victim was found shot to death at Stoddard and Technology Dr. in Modesto, CA.  The area where the victim was located was a new business park which was being developed.  Leimbach was last seen around midnight, July 1, 1993 when he left his best friends residence.  He was suppose to go to a store and return.

FRED HOY LOO

Case: #S89-04145

The Loo Family is asking for Your help.

Victim, Fred Hoy Loo, 58 years old, an oriental male lived and worked at the Crows Landing Food Mart at 5th & G Street in the small town of Crows Landing. On 02-27-89, a female customer was in the store and last spoke with him about 2:45 P.M. About an hour later the store was closed with a sign in the window. Loo's wife and son had been in the City of Newman working at a new store which had just opened up. Loo's son returned to the Crows Landing store and forced his way into the business to find his father dead from a gunshot wound. Robbery appeared to be the motive but no money had been taken from the cash draw. The Loo family is asking the public's help for information.  No leads have developed as to the identity of the person(s) responsible for Fred Loo's death.

JOHN BARRY MICHAELIS

Case: #E28839

The Michaelis Family is asking for Your help.

Victim, John Barry Michaelis, 38-year-old white male was found dead near Hwy 132 near McCracken road in Stanislaus County on Monday, April 7, 1975. Michaelis had been living in Orinda, California.

Michaelis was driving a white 1973 Buick La Sabre which was found abandoned in the Oakland area. Michaelis was robbed of his credit cards.

A suspect in the case was identified as using Michaelis' credit cards in the Oakland area a few days later. The suspect identified was James Henry Gransby, who was 25 years old, at the time. Gransby was interviewed several times, in 1977 and 1980 while in jail in the State of Virginia. Gransby admitted to using the credit cards but not being involved in the murder of Michaelis.

James Gransby is currently 54 years old and is still living in Virginia. Anyone having information about Gransby or talking with him about the murder is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.

REBA MARLENE MILLER

S/O Case #S96-26722

The Miller Family is asking for Your help.

Victim, Reba Marlene Miller, 62 years old at the time of her death and described as a white female adult was found stabbed to death at her home in Turlock on 10-22-96 by her nephew. An autopsy determined that Miller had been stabbed multiple times and died. An autopsy revealed additional evidence that only the suspect will know.

As a result of continuing investigation by Sheriff's detective's, the sister to the victim, Joyce Avalos, 51 years old was identified as a suspect. The suspect, Joyce Avalos was interviewed and later arrested by Sheriff's detective's but due to lack of evidence the case was dismissed by the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office.

The suspect, Joyce Avalos is currently 59 years old and living in Stanislaus county. Anyone having information about Avalos or talking with her about the murder is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.

No leads have developed as to the identity of the person(s) responsible for Reba Miller's death.  Attached is an older photograph of the victim.

DONNA JOANN PEEPLES

Case: #S06-07629

The Peeples Family is asking for Your help.

REWARD: The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and the Carole Sund Carrington Foundation announced the offer of a $5,000 Reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of Donna JoAnn Peeples.

On July 16, 1975 the body of 17-year-old Donna JoAnn Peeples was found in a grape vineyard near Maze Boulevard and Dakota Avenue in West Modesto. It was believed that Donna was killed elsewhere and her body dumped in the vineyard. Donna had spent the day before her death with friends, driving around with friends who had later been interviewed by detectives. Donna had told friends that she had a date with “Lex” later that day and Donna was never seen alive again.

Donna Peeples was married at the time of her death but was separated from her husband, Leonard Peeples, and was living with her parents with her 7-month old daughter.

RUBEN PLASCENCIA

Case: #S98-29998

The Plascencia Family is asking for Your help.

On 11/04/98, Ruben Plascencia, 24-year-old Hispanic male, left his house saying he was going out with friends.   He lived with his girlfriend and their infant child in Newman.  The victim worked and lived on a dairy.  He was never seen alive again. 

His girlfriend reported him missing on 11/10/98 to Newman PD. The victim left his house in a Ford Astro Van. The van was later recovered by CHP on the 11/13/03 at Hickory near Fig near a locked gate near Patterson.  Plascencia was found dead in a vacant barn on 11/14/98.  

The family was notified and responded to the scene on 11/14/03. The family checked the area including a barn, which was about ½ mile away on the same road. The victim was found in the barn shot to death. No suspects were ever arrested regarding this investigation and all leads have been exhausted.

The Plascencia family is asking the public's help for information. 

The day after Plascencia left in his Astro van and several days later a white male adult was seen driving the victim's van in the area where his body was recovered. No leads developed as to the identity of the person driving the victim's van.

JASON THEODORE RICHARDS

Case: # S99-11515

The Richards Family is asking for Your help.

On May 3, 1999, Jason Richards was in a driveway at 413 "E" Street when unknown subject(s) in a primer red/gray vehicle pulled up. The passenger, a hispanic male exited the right side of the car. Richards appeared to know the suspect and approached him. All of a sudden, Richards was shot numerous times at close range. The suspect got back into the car and fled the area. The weapon a small handgun was never recovered.

During subsequent investigation several suspect(s) were contacted but no arrests have been made. The responsible(s) have yet been identified and this case remains unsolved.

RONALD ANTHONY SANTOS

Ronald Anthony Santos, 40 yrs old at the time of his death.
On 11-2-94 the body of Ronald Santos was found one row deep in the almond orchard in the 7900 block of Blue Gum Avenue by a rancher.  Santos had been living at the Vagabond Inn for the past 2 months and was planning on moving to the State of Washington on a new job when he was shot by unknown suspect(s). The vehicle he borrowed was recovered the following day in down town Modesto.

KATHY IRENE SWEET

The Sweet Family is asking for Your help.
 
Deputies found the nude body of Kathy Irene Sweet in a blue Mazda pickup in an orchard in the 3900 block of Coffee road, Modesto on January 14, 1998.  Kathy was a well known lady of the evening and used drugs. She was found in her boyfriend's pickup, Manuel Ambriz. The boyfriend was interviewed and passed a polygraph. No suspects were developed. The victim's death still remains a mystery to detectives.

DARLENE TORRES

Case: #S91-17339

The Torres Family is asking for Your help.

Darlene Torres, Hispanic female adult, 34 years old at the time of her death.

On 9-12-91, Deputies and Detectives were dispatched to a reported dead body that had been dumped on Bell road about a quarter mile north of Stuhr road near the City of Newman. The body of a female was located and an autopsy showed that the victim had been killed and dumped. It was unknown where the victim had been murdered as the body was in a state of decomposition.  No physical evidence was located at the scene due to the state of decomposition as the victim had been at the site for sometime.

The victim was described by family members as having a "rough" life style. She was a lady of the night and used drugs. The victim lived and worked on the streets of Oakland in the bay area.

The victim was an informant for an Oakland Police Sergeant giving information on several murder & robbery cases. The victim had recently testified against several subjects in criminal cases. The victim testified against at least four other individuals that were contacted and denied any involvement in the death of Darlene Torres. All four subjects had reason to want to kill the victim, however, no evidence was developed to link the suspects to the murder in Stanislaus County.

No leads have developed as to the identity of the person(s) responsible for Darlene Torres' death.
