Deputy Kristi Herr has been employed with the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Coroner from 1998 to present.  She has investigated over 1500 cases and performed over 100 death investigation presentations.  

Deputy Kristi Herr is currently the Interim Chief Deputy Coroner.

Not open to the public on the weekends or holidays.

The Coroner’s Office is a part of the Sheriff’s Department.  

We are mandated by law to investigate certain deaths, as enumerated in California Government Code section 27491 and California Health and Safety Code section 10250, to determine cause and manner of death. These include many categories such as homicide, suicide and unexpected deaths.
